Jeff Hayward 2004 National Chief
|
National Chief
Jeff Hayward
has been elected as the 2004 National Chief of the Order
of the Arrow. Jeff, age 19, is an Eagle Scout and Vigil Honor
member of the OA. He is in his second term as the Section Chief
of C-1A and is a member of
Tetonwana Lodge of the Sioux Council.
An Assistant Scoutmaster in Troop 173 of Pierre, S.D., he attends school at
the University of South Dakota, where he
is a business management major.
Jeff has led his lodge as lodge chief, served on staff
for the 2003 Indian Summer and
the 2000 NOAC, and attended the
2001 National Jamboree. He has also participated in the NLS
program, Philbreak, and the Section Officer Semminar.
Jeff earned his Arrow of Light as a Cub Scout, and has been honored
with the Founders' Award for his service to the Order.
Jeff enjoys playing
racquetball and lacrosse. His favorite hobbies include
camping, climbing, mountain biking, and kayaking.
Asked for his thoughts on being elected national chief,
Jeff replied, "I just hope that I can live up to those
who have served before me. This organization has given
me so much, and I am very grateful for this opportunity
to serve the Order."

David Dowty 2004 National Vice Chief

National Vice Chief
David Dowty
has been elected as the 2004 National
Vice Chief of the Order of the Arrow.
He is the Section Chief of NE-2B
and is a member of Black Eagle Lodge
of the Transatlantic Council. He comes from Stuttgart, Germany.
David, age 19, is an Eagle Scout and a Vigil Honor member of the OA.
He is an assistant Scoutmaster with Troop 154.
He has attended NOAC in 1998 and 2002, attended and staffed the NLS
program, and attended the Section Officer Seminar. He has worked on
summer camp staff.
David is attending
Johnson and Wales University in Providence, RI,
majoring in International Business.
When not Scouting, he enjoys debate, theatre, golf, and sailing.
David is also active in the President's Leadership Council,
and the International Student Leadership Institute.
Asked for his thoughts on being elected national vice chief,
David said,
"The feeling is amazing. We just finished a six and a half hour session
that ended in a whirlwind of congratulations and handshakes.
Give me five minutes, and we'll see if it sinks in."

Joe Sadewasser Central Region Chief

Central Region Chief
Joe Sadewasser , 18,
of Dubuque, Iowa, is an
assistant Scoutmaster in troop 25. An Eagle Scout and
Vigil Honor member of Timmeu Lodge and Northeast Iowa
Council, Sadewasser is a student at the Northeast Iowa
Community College,
where he is majoring in criminology.
In his spare time, he enjoys biking, hunting, climbing,
and fishing. After being elected,
Joe said "Wow! We have many great opportunities
ahead of us. It is going to be a great year!"

Ed Lynes Northeast Region Chief

Northeast Region Chief
From Needham, MA, nineteen year-old Ed Lynes
is a Vigil Honor member of Moswetuset Lodge of the Boston
Minuteman
Council. He is an Eagle Scout from Troop 13, where he serves
as an assistant Scoutmaster.
Lynes, an English major at Boston University, enjoys
music, film, swimming, and the Boston Red Socks. When asked
about the year ahead, he noted: "I look forward to the great
things 2004 can bring for the Northeast Region, the Order, and
each individual Arrowman."

Seth Dearmin Southern Region Chief

Southern Region Chief
An Eagle Scout in Troop 400, Seth Dearmin , 19, is a
Vigil Honor member of Wahissa Lodge in the
Old Hickory Council, and lives in Pinnacle, NC. As a geography major
at the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill, Dearmin enjoys
backpacking, triathlons, climbing, and socializing.
He is involved with the NC Fellows, Chapel Hill Music Fest,
and dance marathon.
"I am excited about the coming year for the
Southern Region, and the opportunity to lead an amazing
group of section chiefs."
says Dearmin. "I am thrilled about the challenge ahead and
ready to execute a fun and memorable term as region chief."
