Red Arrow Awards

The Red Arrow Award is presented by the National Order of the Arrow Committee for distinguished service to the Order by either non-Scouters or Scouters who are not members of the Order. This service may take many forms and should involve a significant period of time, as opposed to a single event. A limited number of awards are presented to those whose accomplishments are of the highest order. This year, three recipients were honored at the History and Recognition Show.

Joseph Csatari

Joseph Csatari, of South River, New Jersey, is a member of the Executive Board of the Central New Jersey Council and is the official artist of the Boy Scouts of America. Mr. Csatari’s presence in the Order of the Arrow can be traced to the early 1960’s when he was asked to paint two commissions for the Aquehongian Lodge in Staten Island, New York. These two exceptional works of art, entitled The Higher Vision and The Ordeal Ceremony have for nearly half a century become the two most treasured works of art done for the Order of the Arrow. They have been used to illustrate handbook covers, programs, membership cards, coins, and other Order of the Arrow literature. His work has become a symbol of our organization and is instantly recognizable by all Arrowmen.

Nancy Gully

Nancy Gully, of Naperville, Illinois, has been employed by the North Central and, subsequently, the Central Region for over 20 years. In her role, she has assisted in the printed information sent on conclaves, National Order of the Arrow Conferences, and National Leadership Seminars. Nancy is also charged with making logistical and travel arrangements for the Central Region Chief. Nancy is often found to arrive in the office early and stay late to go to all extremes to support all of the Central Region staff and employees.

Paula G. Mont

Paula G. Mont, of Powder Springs, Georgia currently serves as the Administrative Assistant to the Southern Region Associate Director of Program. She is responsible for all correspondence, reports, design of promotional materials, shipping, records of registration, bookkeeping and maintaining files for numerous regional programs including the National Leadership Seminar and the Section Officer Seminar. Her "friendly, courteous, and kind" manner in dealing with all aspects of her job has endeared her to those who have met her and know her.
