Ask the Chairman - Assistant Scoutmaster
Can a Scoutmaster ask that a 20yr old Assistant Scoutmaster who had been a first class scout or higher with a current 15 days and nights of camping be placed on his units OA ballot?
Thanks for your question. Lots of people wonder the same thing.
The Guide to Officers and Advisors on page 20 states that anyone who is under 21 and met all the other requirements may still be offered by the Scoutmaster to the membership of the unit to be elected as a youth member.
His Scoutmaster would add him to the ballet that the troop youth would use and he would, of course, have to be elected by the membership of his unit, as they would elect any other youth.
Hope this helps,
