Centennial Update: Wisconsin governor, legislature commemorate the Order’s centennial anniversary

By Matthew Watson

Recently, the state legislature in Wisconsin passed a resolution to commemorate the Order’s centennial anniversary. Governor Scott Walker, a Distinguished Eagle Scout and Vigil Honor member of Chemokemon Lodge, pushed for the resolution to pass in the assembly along with many other state officials who have ties to the OA and Scouting. Within the resolution, the Wisconsin legislature recognized the Order’s impact within its communities and the promise the organization has for the state’s future. You can check out the resolution on the Wisconsin State Legislature website.

State leaders in Iowa recognized the Order’s impact, too. At the Mid-Iowa Council ArrowTour stop, the state of Iowa recognized the Order’s impact with Governor Paul Pate’s presentation of a proclamation.

Similarly, Arrowmen gathered with state officials in North Carolina earlier this year, in July, to pass their own resolution. You can learn more about how that resolution came to pass in this previous article..

As the centennial of the Order of the Arrow comes to a close, several councils are developing their own resolutions to celebrate the legacy of their local lodges. Discover how your council can recognize the impact of your lodge and its future through the centennial resolution template.
