Introducing the National Training Coordinator

The national Order of the Arrow Training subcommittee is proud to announce the recruitment of Anthony Johnson as the national training coordinator. Anthony is from Sequoyah Lodge in East Tennessee. Anthony’s OA service record includes Sequoyah lodge chief, 2016 SR-6 section chief, and a key youth leader for the Inspiration Committee at NEXT.

As national training coordinator, Anthony will work hand-in-hand with the vice chairman of training to revitalize the following training offerings:

  • On-line training for lodge advisers
  • Specialized training for chapter officers and advisers
  • Section adviser online training
  • Developing new training videos and resources
  • Revamping the LLD Program
  • Assisting with the finalization of the Developing Youth Leaders Conference

Anthony will also focus on creating a cohesive training approach throughout the OA while maintaining a firm grip on the committee’s many deadlines. Anthony will serve as liaison with the national communications coordinator to promote the various training resources offered to our membership.

“This is a great opportunity to help develop training that makes a difference in the lives of our members and the greater Scouting community,” Anthony said. “We are actively looking for volunteers who are interested in helping with the training committee, by writing syllabi, storyboarding online trainings, and brainstorming and piloting new sessions. If anyone is interested, please contact training@oa-bsa.org for more information.”
